Golden Age of Radio: A Twist of the Dial II & Three Variations of Love
featuring the AFTRA/SAG Senior Radio Players
Millennium Park
6pm
The AFTRA/SAG Senior Radio Players recreate the magic of old time radio performances, telling stories and creating sound effects with as many manual devices as possible. They stay faithful to the original model by having to get it right the first time — no retakes permitted. “A Twist of the Dial II: The War Years” recreates the powerful role radio played in World War 2, and the way it brought the nation together. The audience will be reminded of personalities including FDR, Edward R. Murrow, Gabriel Heater, Eddie Cantor, and GI Jill, and the music of Your Hit Parade, dance remotes, Kate Smith, the Andrew Sisters and Louis Armstrong. — millenniumpark.org
