Sam Amidon will be performing on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 8:00pm at the Old Town School of Folk Music (Gary and Laura Maurer Concert Hall, 4544 N Lincoln Ave.). Doors open at 7:30pm.
Sam Amidon is a modern day folk singer raised in Vermont by parents who are group-singing leaders and storytellers. Well versed in old folk songs, Amidon updates the sound by painting tradition in new colors giving the listener a new form of quiet and arty folk pop.
“The songs pass through clouds of animated, rigorous arrangements of strings, woodwind and brass. It is theoretical and handsome music, and it makes good sense of its curious point of view.” – New York Times
